General Job Overview:

The selected candidate must have 5 years research and development experience in the application of Computational Fluid Dynamics to complex multi-physics multi-phase CFD problems.

Experience Requirements:

  • Experience in code development and in-depth research involving coupled Eulerian and Lagrangian particles.
  • Experience in code development and in-depth research involving turbulent combustion and turbomachinary simulations.
  • Experience in CFD code development based on Immersed Boundary method.
  • Recent publications in above related topics.
  • List of Phase I and Phase II proposal awards as PI is strongly encouraged.
  • Proficient in programming language Python, C/C++, and Fortran.
  • Experience in structured and unstructured grid generation for aerospace configurations using tools such a Pointwise or GridPro.
  • Experience with flow visualization software such as Fieldview, Tecplot, or Paraview.
  • Experience in the management of large number of simulations on remote HPC resources.
  • Familiarity with industrial CFD tools such as OVERFLOW, FLUENT, CFD++, etc.
  • Familiarity with NASA’s Chimera Grid Tools package is a plus
  • Must be an United States citizen

Auxiliary Requirements:

Education Requirements:

• Masters degree in Mechanical and Aerospace engineering or related fields.
